Free computers for non-profits

DFPS is upgrading their computers. Non-profits can apply for the ones that will become available as their staff use laptops. The details are below. They plan to distribute soon so this the suggestion is to complete the information asap. One the 4222 form (See below) and IRS non-profit form are received, someone from the state follows up to understand the agency’s specific computer needs and tries to find a match. This is all the information that I have.

Attached is the application form for the free computers and laptops that will be distributed by DFPS in August 2006 to non-profit agencies that serve the client population served by social service agencies. The computers will
not come with software, so the non-profits that get them will have to get their own software. The computers to be distributed have been used by DFPS staff and are being replaced by laptops that the caseworkers can use in the
field.

The computer distribution process is as follows:

Fill out form 4222 and attach required documentation as requested in form.

Then mail to:

Director of IT Operations
Department of Family & Protective Services
8100 Cameron Road,
Austin, Texas 78754
