NEW INTERNET SERVICE OFFERS DATABASE OF ORGANIZATIONS FOR/OF THE DEAF

deafCensus.org To Serve As Centralized Area for National Directory Of Deaf-related and Hearing Loss-related Organizations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (September 25, 2006) – deafCensus.org (www.deafCensus.org), one of the premier sites on the Web for deaf and hard of hearing communities, has a new Internet service offering a carefully compiled database of deaf and hearing loss related organizations. The site’s project is spearheaded by Robert Plubell, the originator of the concept for the site, and sole developer of the website development involving programming and database development. He brings with him to this exciting, innovative project, 21 years of high-level experience as a former consulting software engineer for NCR Corp.

deafCensus.org is intended to change the way deaf and hard of hearing related organizations operate by providing them with a more efficient and productive way to improve their visibility and expand their marketability. The site offers one centralized stop on the Internet containing a vast collection of carefully edited and compiled national database directories of organizations and their profiles, and an exciting event calendar displaying national or regional events.

This is a “one stop shop” for deaf and hard of hearing-related businesses and organizations. This website is currently only a small part of the vision of deafCensus. In the near future, there will be important statistical information posted that will help organizations to obtain accurate statistics on topics related to deafness and/or hearing loss. The availability of this kind of information is critical to non-profit agencies, businesses and organizations that depend upon accurate statistical information to justify funding from federal, state and local funding sources.

deafCensus.org is pleased to provide information that will empower deaf and hard of hearing individuals and organizations with up-to-date, accurate data that will improve the lives of those with hearing loss.

The beauty of compiling a huge database directory of organizations and agencies related to deafness and hearing loss, is to enable users to navigate seamlessly through many hierarchical levels of categories relating to topics such as; Accessibility, Deaf Culture, Education, Social and Mental Health Services. deafCensus has also created an extensive, user-friendly map that shows each state’s services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals at the state, county and city levels. Each organization listed is displayed by their geographical location, along with a detailed profile and link to their website. The individual navigating through the map can quickly and easily ascertain each state’s density of services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

deafCensus.org offers an innovative way for agencies and organizations to have access to the most current data and avoid having an obsolete or invalid database. When you visit deafCensus.org, you will be instructed to register. All registration information will be strictly confidential. deafCensus strives to maintain the most current, user-friendly information possible. Comments, questions and feedback are greatly appreciated in order for us to continue to strive to provide you with the most up-to-date information.
