Texas DARS and Walgreen’s Working to Create Jobs for People with
Disabilities

Walgreen’s and the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitation
Services (DARS) has an intensive and individualized work conditioning
program for adults with disabilities, including Deaf and Hard of
Hearing. The Work Ready Program (WRP) is a four week program, and
includes physical endurance and job skills development training.

The Transitional Work Group (TWG) is an opportunity for individuals
with disabilities to enhance and develop work skills in a retail
distribution environment. After working with a job coach in this nine
week program, individuals are evaluated toward becoming full-time
employees of Walgreen’s.
