Teaching Assistant/ American Sign Language Interpreter
Number of openings: Two
Duty Days: Full time position (187 days per year)
Technology Literacy: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant/ ASL Interpreter Includes
* The teaching assistant will be responsible for working with the classroom teachers, students and parents to implement the instructional program.
* Work cooperatively with all campus staff, parents and students.
* The assistant will utilize excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to work with staff, students and the community in a positive, polite and friendly manner.
Requirements
Teaching Assistant/ American Sign Language Interpreter
Requirements for Teaching Assistant/ American Sign Language Interpreter:
* High school diploma or GED; competency in American Sign Language;
* Computer skills (proficient skills in typing, word processing, spreadsheet, power point and file maintenance;
* Ability to do detailed work accurately;
* Strong understanding of confidentiality; such alternatives to the above as may be deemed appropriate.
* Prefer classroom experience and/or interpreter experience.
Compensation:
The salary will be determined by the 2009-2010 Jean Massieu Academy Teaching Assistant/ ASL Interpreter Salary Schedule and experience.
