Houston ASL Events Calendar
Houston ASL Events Calendar
http://houstonaslevents.blogspot.com/
Hi to all!
So, I am not very tech savvy, but I have been working on a Houston ASL Events webpage with a calendar. It is so hard to keep up with what everyone is planning and it is a shame when Deaf/interpreting events are double booked if it can be avoided. I am hoping that this will be a calendar for event planners in the city of Houston and the community at large to utilize. If you would like access to this calendar to be able to post events, please contact me for the login information. I am attempting within the next few days to add the events I am aware of in the community. If I have made a mistake on an event, please feel free to login and correct it or email me at houstonasl@gmail.com with the correct info and I will correct it. Here is the page I set up for people to view. It should update every time new events are added: http://houstonaslevents.blogspot.com/
Also feel free to update the community links or to give me some to add to the list.
Lastly, please to pass this along to everyone in the community so that we can all be “in the know.” If at some point there is abuse of the free access, we can then consider changing the password and such, but until such an event I would prefer to leave this as an open invitation for people to post events and save the dates. Thanks!

i just want to know how to teach my daughter sign language. i am learning as we go. i do not know sign language. i am using the internet because that is the only resource i have. i do not even know if i am teaching her right.
I’m a student @ HCC-Coleman location and I would like to get more involved in the Deaf Community and also learn more sign language.
Thank you for the post on disaster preparedness. I will have to place this into effect. Thanks!
I have been taking signlanguage at the community college and I love the classes I have had. My daughter had a baby who was always crying because no one could understand what he wanted. I started teaching him to sign “baby sign words” and he is much happier and so is his mom.
there are many books that have pictures of how to sign the word. there are several websites that are good just have to fish through them till you find one that works for you. look at your community college and see if there is anyone there who can help you.
