TJC Hiring ASL and Interpreting Instructors

Tyler Junior College
Sign Language Interpreter Training Program
Searching for Instructors

I. We are searching for qualified ASL professors for our growing program.
Currently we have part-time openings for evening and summer ASL I-V courses
as well as Fingerspelling/Numbers, Deaf Culture, and Visual Gestural
Communication. We have an urgent need beginning Summer 2010.

At least one full-time position may be available within a year or so due to
retirement. “Signing Naturally” curriculum is used and TJC recently
installed a SANS, Inc. ASL computer lab.

Qualifications:
1. Native ASL signer
2. Masters degree preferred
3. Teaching experience

2. We are also in need of part time interpreter training professors.

Qualifications:
1. Certified BEI or RID/NIC interpreter Level III/Advanced or above
2. Masters Degree preferred
3. Teaching experience
