Message from Dallas Deaf Club – August 2010
Hello to all members and friends of DAD
I have been kept busy by trying to keep up with DAD. And before I realized
it, is August already! Yes, we will have more hot weather in which we will
have to deal with. So let us all try to stay cool.
Last July 24, I had wonderful time at the Summer Social Afternoon, which was
hosted by North Texas Deaf Senior Citizens (NTDSC) celebrating their second
year. They served fried chicken, had many side dishes to choose from, and
also many wonderful desserts. It gave us an opportunity to mingle as well as
to get to know more of the Deaf senior citizens. Good job NTDSC! Big
hands waving up.
I regret to inform you that one of our members passed away, his name was
Robert Arnold. May he rest in peace and let us pray for his family.
It is necessary to announce that Western Night, which Laura Moore, Mitch
Bien and Jesse Carrizales are the co- hosts, is cancelled.
If any of you are interested in becoming a Bar Manager at DAD, please do see
me and we will discuss the position’s duties.
I need to inform you that Prime Time, Sign Time starting time will be at
8:00pm not 7:30pm on every first Friday each month. Please spread the words
to others who plan to attend on September 3rd.
Here are some events for this month of August
Friday, August 20, Black Sand movie, by ASL Film. Doors opens at 7:00pm and
the movie starts at 8:00pm.
Saturday, August 21, Black Sand movie, by ASL Film. Doors opens at 1:00pm
and the movie starts at 2:00pm.
Black Sand tickets will be available at DAD. Please see me.
Saturday, August 21, CINGO game starts at 8:30pm. Ya’ll come and play!
Saturday, August 28, General Meeting at 7:30pm.
