Literacy and Language Learning Clinic – DFW

Literacy and Language Learning Clinic For Hard of Hearing Students

Tutoring sessions in the areas of language and literacy learning are offered
for school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing. We offer a
reading diagnostic assessment and literacy instruction intervention for
students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Instructors are pre-service teachers of the deaf who are able to communicate
using sign language. Individualized instruction will be deternimed based on
the results of the assessments. Assessment includes word identification
skills, vocabulary, reading comprehension, spelling and written language.

Tutoring sessions run 50 minutes and are offered Monday, Wednesday and
Friday. Fees are assessed on a sliding fee schedule to make the services
affordable for every family. Scholarships are available.
