Psalm 117 Ministry is hosting a Silent Weekend Retreat this coming October
21-24, 2010. We are offering a proposed 2.0 CEUs for this event with
workshops on Biblical Concepts, Scriptural Translation, Worship: Leading,
Interpreting, and Performing, and the Ethics of Religious Interpreting.
Along with these workshops we will also have a round table discussion on the
issues that we face as interpreters in the realm of religious interpreting.
Anyone who is looking to improve their religious interpreting is invited
there is no certification requirements; however, the weekend will be
voice-off with ASL as the language of the retreat. All workshops will be
presented in ASL without voice interpreters.
The retreat will be held at Mt. Lebanon Encampment in Cedar Hill, Texas. The
sleeping arrangements are bunkhouse style.
Please respond as soon as possible with interest in this weekend as space is
limited to 40 participants. We will send out registration information by
September 1, with an early bird registration price of $150 with payments and
registration received by September 10. The registration fee is all
inclusive: housing, meals, and 20 hours of workshops.
