of deaf students attending Lamar University, the office of Services for
Students with Disabilities has opened a second part-time staff position,
with benefits.

Duties: Under the general supervision of the Coordinator of Communication
Access for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing CADH, provide part-time (25 hours
per week) sign language interpreting services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
faculty, staff, students and visitors. Sign language interpreting services
include but are not limited to interpreting for lectures, labs, seminars,
meetings, appointments and exams as well as university-hosted activities
such as convocations, commencements, orientations and lecture series. Adhere
to the RID Code of Professional Conduct. Participate in feedback and/or
mentor peer interpreters for skill development. Work effectively in teams
with other sign language interpreters. May utilize technologies to
transcribe speech to text. Other duties as assigned.
