Job posting for Deaf or Hard of Hearing Guide

The Educational Resource Center on Deafness (ERCOD) has partnered with TX
Hands & Voices to bring the Guide By Your Side (GBYS) program to Texas!
GBYS is a model family support program that provides UNBIASED SUPPORT to
families with deaf or hard of hearing children all over the state.

GBYS provides parents with a Parent Guide “match” – a specially trained
parent of a deaf or hard of hearing child – who offers support,
encouragement, and guidance. Parent Guides are hearing, Deaf, or hard of
hearing.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Guides are adults who are specially trained
to work with parents with newly identified babies, young children, or
teenagers who are deaf or hard of hearing. They provide invaluable
perspectives that come from direct personal experiences and help families
increase their awareness of and sensitivity to issues faced by individuals
who are deaf or hard of hearing. DHH Guides do NOT have to be parents
themselves.

We are currently hiring individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) to
be Guides! This is a part-time contract position through ERCOD.

You may download the Job Description and Application using the link below:

OR the documents will soon be available for download from the Texas Hands &
Voices website at: http://www.txhandsandvoices.org.
