We need your help to get a hearing on H.B. 3562 & stop the state from claiming Immunity from the ADA in certain cases.
H.B. 3562 would waive the sovereign immunity of the state from suit and liability for the limited purpose of allowing suit in court for violations under the ADA. Currently, the State of Texas can claim sovereign immunity in ADA cases and has successfully prevented persons claiming discrimination based on disability from having their day in court. The majority of states do not seek sovereign immunity from the ADA
H.B. 3562 is a bill of huge interest to Texans with disabilities. On behalf of those citizens, Coalition of Texans with Disabilities (CTD) ask that you help us to gain a hearing on this bill, it will only take a few seconds.
Call the committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence at 512-463-0790 and say:
“My name is__________, I live in _________, I would like to ask Chairman Jackson for his support and to post a hearing on H.B. 3562. Thank you.”
