Message from DAD President – May 2011
Hello to all members and friends of DAD
I cannot believe it’s May already and the summer is just around the corner,
which means picnic, swimming, wearing summer clothes, etc. Yeah! I am
looking forward for the summer!
When I surfed on internet for May’s National of the month, there were many
to pick. I decided to pick the Preservation. May is National Preservation
month and this year’s theme is ”Celebrating American’s treasure”. It means
to save American’s treasures, preserve projects in cities and towns from
coast to coast.
I want to share with you that the NSAD (National Softball Association of the
Deaf) will be held in Dallas TX from August 11-13. We have flyers and combo
tickets available. Flyers can be found in the flyer rack holder, be sure to
pick one up.
Good News! We have more and new pictures added to the DAD’s website! They
are in year 2010 and 2011. Enjoy viewing them!
We have some vacancy positions: two board members, vice president, trustee
and membership secretary; if you are desire or may be interesting in one of
the following positions, please see me or Anthony Jones, DAD Board Chair.
For any of you who are having a birthday this month, DAD would like to wish
you a “Happy Birthday” and “Happy Belated Mother Day”!
Events for this month of May.
* Saturday, May 14- Pool and Dart tournament (check the flier)
* Friday, May 20- General member meeting-7:30 pm
* Saturday, May 21-Cingo game-8:30 pm ya’ll come and play
* Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28- We are opening for Memorial Day
weekend
The rest of Fridays of May will be social nights.
