Job title: Sales Engineer

Location: Austin, TX preferably, but Sioux Falls, SD may be considered

Position Description:
The Sales Engineer is the primary technical resource for the field sales
force. The Sales Engineer is responsible for actively driving and managing
the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction
with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for
our current and emerging products.

Essential Functions:
Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical
users.
Conceptualize and communicate on how the company products and services
affect opportunities and sales exposure within the organization.
Perform customer needs assessments and convey customer requirements to
Business Development team
Define the current and future company products to address requirements of
prospect business.
Design and deliver product presentations based on the necessities and
competitive sales condition.
Responsible for responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure
complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
Understand product capability gaps or functionality to define ways to handle
them using partners, product enhancements, etc.
Improve product specification layout and detail according to the
distinguishing features of company products.
Participate at conferences, tradeshows, and other events as required by
Sales Management and Product Marketing.
Provide knowledge and training on products to peers, presales and sales
staff in the organization.
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the company products, functions,
features and benefits.
Develop and maintain business and client contact information as these
relates to product development.
Provide specifications and quotes to prospective clients.
May be responsible for writing and enhancing technical product manuals.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, SW or HW Engineering or related
discipline.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a technical application capacity
Proven success-presenting technology as business solution.
Proven success selling in complicated sales surroundings with both technical
and business buyers.
Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate
professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting
reports.
Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative
and adaptive approaches.
Fluency in ASL highly preferred, but not required.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
