This workshop is an overview of the language development process in Deaf and
Hard of Hearing children and the impact it has on the interpreting process.
In the educational field, Interpreters are communication facilitators as
well as language role models.
Attendees will participate in a lecture style and round table discussion of
language development and interpreting techniques best used in the classroom
to benefit the learning of Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. Attendee will
also be given scenarios to practice how they would break down information in
a classroom setting.
Proceeds from the workshop to benefit the 3rd Saturday Silent Night Pot Luck
gathering and the Interpreters study library.
