Kayaking in North Austin
Want to blow off some steam on Friday night by kayaking, but too far to get
to Town Lake? No problem! Come on up to Brushy Creek in Cedar Park!
If you’re interested, please let me (deaf.way@austin.rr.com) know by this
Thursday, Aug 18th, so that I can notify the organizer (Sierra Club) the
total # of participants (we get a discount rate for group kayaking).
When: Friday, August 19, 2011
Time: 6pm (finish around 730pm – the rental place will stay open late for
us)
Where: Row Paddle Brushy Creek, 3300 Brushy Creek Road, Cedar Park (just
east of Parmer Lane and inside the park – at a red canopy next to the lake)
What: Paddle to the old railroad bridge and back on sturdy non-tippy
sit-on-top kayaks. Swimming is not allowed at this lake (city code) however
fishing from a kayak on Fridays is allowed.
