This Workshop examines the Collaborative Model of Interpreting and an
approach to teaming that departs from the “on” & “off” interpreter
teaming and approaches the work in a collaborative, “always on” way.
Another key component to effective interpretations is preparation as
one way to make the content of interpreting more manageable.
Barbara-Jean will guide participants in a discussion of the importance
of working with those on the entire team including other interpreters
and the hearing and deaf consumers. This session includes a discussion
of how to apply the Collaborative Model of Interpreting to your work as
well as a brief application activity.
