2012 DEAF ACTION CENTER BOYS’ SUMMIT

Celebrating “Deaf” Smith – and his 225th Birthday!

On October 25, 2012, Erastus “Deaf” Smith will step out of Texas
history and into the DAC Teen Leadership Summit for Deaf & Hard of
Hearing Boys! This summit we pay special tribute to THE LEGACY OF
“DEAF” SMITH, presented and performed by distinguished author,
educator, leader, and Hall of Fame athlete, Steven C. Baldwin, Ph.D. –
a Texas treasure, himself.

Dr. Baldwin will take the boys on a journey through Texas history at
the time of the Alamo, portraying the man who lost his hearing at age
11, yet played a vital role in the struggle for Texas independence –
the legendary scout, spy, soldier and hero, Erastus “Deaf” Smith.

Also featured will be the “Deaf” Smith displays recently exhibited in
the Texas Capitol. Rest assured… this will be one unforgettable summit!
