TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF HOMECOMING: “FEEL THE POWER”

SPIRIT WEEK KICKS OFF HOMECOMING FESTIVITIES
PRE-GAME HYPE BUILDS, KICKING OFF SCHOOL’S OLDEST, BIGGEST TRADITION

Austin, Texas – September 17, 2012 Homecoming at the Texas School for
the Deaf (TSD) is still the most cherished tradition celebrated at the
150+ year-old school – home of the TSD Rangers – with more than 1,500
expected to attend the weekend festivities.

TSD’s Spirit Week, Monday-Friday, excites the campus with students and
staff donning the appropriate spirit attire each day for themed
activities and wacky student competitions. During TSD’s annual Blue and
White Pep Pally Friday at 1:00 p.m., the coveted TSD Spirit Award will
be presented to the most spirited class.

Rooted in long-standing tradition, each year students, families,
friends and alumni converge on TSD’s South Austin campus mall to
celebrate together at the Homecoming Festival Saturday prior to the
game with food booths, games and a variety of vendors.

The TSD Rangers meet the Cubs from the California School for the
Deaf-Riverside (CSD-R) on the gridiron, Saturday, September 22 at 5:00
p.m., where TSD’s 2012-2013 Homecoming court will be crowned during
half time.

Competition starts early in the day Saturday with TSD Junior Varsity
and Varsity Volleyball games at 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. against
Brentwood Christian.
