Vicki Welch, 45, of Amarillo,Texas, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 in Cypress, Texas.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Darrell Bonjour officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Welch was born on November 28, 1967 to James Frank Harp and Dorothy Evelyn Raef. Vicki Graduated with honors from Tascosa High School in 1986 and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. with a master degree of Deaf Education. She was Miss Deaf DC from 1991-1993. While at college, she met her adoring husband Toby Welch. They married on July 31, 1993.

Vicki went on to teach in California and Texas. She taught at Cypress Ridge High School for the past 9 years.

Vicki was known for her tremendous faith in The Lord. She touched many lives through teaching, missionary work and her sweet spirit and will be missed by many. She loved to sign singing in church and missionary work. Her favorite verse when she was suffering with the loss of her son Cameron and battling cancer is Job 1:21, “And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Now she went home with The Lord.

Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by: her father, James Harp, mother, Dorothy Graham and her son Cameron Allen Welch.

She is survived by her husband, Toby Welch, of the home; sisters Kim Lester, Dawn Harp Keating, Jennifer Harp Ronan and brother Aaron Harp.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Odyssey Hospice Willowbrook, 13325 Hargrave Road, Suite 230, Houston, Texas 77070.
