Theatre Workshop: Spoken English to ASL and ASL to Spoken English

DATE: Saturday March 23, 2013

TIME: 9:00am – 4:00pm

ADDRESS:
Onstage In Bedford
2821 Forest Ridge Drive
Bedford, TX 76021

Lights, camera, action! This workshop was organized in an effort to help interpreters overcome their fear of the stage and to build on the skills and training that some of us may already have. Those who attend will be provided a foundation for theatre interpreting covering the various facets, roles and responsibilities.

This two part workshop is being presented by a presenter who has truly “lived” the theatre as both a participant and a spectator. Aaron M. Kubey was the first Deaf Executive Director/President of the National Theatre of the Deaf and earned his B.F.A degree in Theatre Studies at DePaul Theatre School in Chicago, Illinois. Aaron was the first Deaf student to graduate from this prestigious institution. He has had the opportunity to work on numerous television, film and theatrical productions over the course of his career and has acted in the role of a theatre interpreter. He currently works in the Washington D.C area.

Cost: $60 for Interpreters, $55 for Interpreting Students and $50 for Hired Hands Interpreters.

Registration Deadline: Monday March 18, 3013

This workshop will be presented in ASL. Any requests to have a voice Interpreter must be made by Friday March 15th
