The Deaf-Blind Service Center of Austin will be having its Second Annual Walk-A-Thon on June 1, 2013, to kick-off Deaf-Blind Awareness month. The walk will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Texas School for the Deaf track. Come walk with and support those Deaf-Blind individuals in our community and help to raise funds to train Support Service Providers. SSP’s are specially trained professionals who enable people who have combined vision and hearing loss to access their environments and to make informed decisions. SSPs provide Deaf-Blind individuals with visual and environmental information, sighted-guide services, and communication accessibility. The DBSC of Austin is raising funds to train more people to become SSPs. Show your solidarity and help the DBSC of Austin provide hope!
