GREEN Father Austin E. Green, O.P. peacefully passed away on March 24, 2014 at the age of 93 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Green; siblings, Sr. Marguerite M. Green, RSCJ, Redmond P. Green, and Mary Josephine Peace; and nephews, Robert Clark and Edward Clark.

Father Green is survived by two siblings Jeanne G. Clark, and Elizabeth G. Palmgren, and nieces and nephews; Charles Clark, Redmond Clark, Mary Sadewater, Austin Clark, William Clark, Joseph Clark, Marguerite Zamuolo, Laurie Leauitt, Robbie Peace, Ellie Grillo, and James Peace. After graduating from Holy Cross College in Massachusetts, he served our country with the US Navy as a Lt. Senior Grade, during WWII. He joined the Dominican order in 1946, and was ordained in 1953.

His ministries included many years in education, and ministries to the deaf in Dallas for 25 years. He moved to New Orleans, to retire in 2009 and has resided at St. Anthony of Padua Church. All are welcome to join the services for Father Green.

A vigil will be held in his honor on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 7-9PM, with a Mass taking place on Thursday March 27, 2014 at 10:00 AM. All celebrations will be held at St Anthony of Padua Church, 4640 Canal Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.
