Open AA Meeting 5/10/14 – DFW

Greetings,

The April CityWide Dallas AA event was another big success. There was a lot of enthusiasm, especially when the one brave newcomer got a desire chip. Many people reported getting chills! Kathleen CH shared her story, experience, strength, and hope with around 470 in attendance. There were 15 kids in the free child care and 2 hard of hearing/deaf members heard Kathleen through an interpreter. Although the food supply was a little lite, more than 200 people enjoyed the Pot-Luck. We will need more folks to bring entrees next month.

Please see May 10, 2014 details below.

The purpose of CityWide Dallas is to encourage Unity through Fellowship. Our first tradition states, “Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends on AA unity.” CityWide Dallas is a monthly AA event and is a great opportunity to come together, check in, and encourage each other. No man – or group – is an island. As we grow, our conviction grows that we must hang together or die separately.

Citywide Dallas hopes to do a small part, working alongside General Service, Intergroup, the groups, and other AA events to further unify us A.A.’s so that this continues to happen: “In spite of the great increase in the size and the span of this Fellowship, at its core it remains simple and personal. Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope.”

In Love and Service,
CityWide Dallas
