“Consecutive Interpreting Skills Development”
This workshop looks at the process of consecutive interpreting with a
focus on working memory and target language reformulation.
Participants will be introduced to the theoretical applications
of consecutive interpreting and have hands on activities surrounding
short and long consecutive interpreting practice. Some
discussion of note taking in consecutive will be discussed. This
workshop will be conducted in spoken English.

“Creative a More Visual Interpretation”
This workshop looks at how interpreters can create a more
visual versus linear interpretation in their English to ASL interpreting.
We will look at specific linguistic features associated with use of
space: characterization, SASSs, classifiers, verb modulation, etc.
Participants will work with visual materials and written/spoken
English texts in groups. Due to the nature of the topic, the presentation
will be conducted in both ASL and English.
