Many Interpreters are intimidated by the task of voicing for ASL signers. This workshop will discuss the process of ASL to English Interpreting and help participants identify which steps along that process need their focused attention.

Educational Objectives:

1) Participants will understand the steps in the process of ASL to English interpreting.

2) Participants will practice ASL to English interpreting in small groups.

3) Participants will apply this experience and expertise to interpreting from ASL to English.

Nancy Thomas, TSID Treasurer, has been a freelance Interpreter for several decades. Currently, most of her work is in higher education and corporate America. Certified both state and nationally, she has been interpreting experience at the local, state, national and international level. Work is not everything—she is also a cattle rancher, horsewoman, beekeeper and is active in her church.
