TSD RANGERS vs. ST. GERARD ROYALS – NOVEMBER 1, 2014

Austin, Texas – October 28, 2014 Homecoming at the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) – this Saturday, November 1, 2014 – is still the most cherished tradition celebrated at the 158 year-old school, bringing former students and families back to the school’s south Austin campus – at 1102 South Congress Avenue – for TSD’s annual festival and full day of activities, starting at 10:00 am.

Building to TSD’s annual Blue and White pep rally, Friday at 1:15 pm, the class spirit award will be handed down to the high school class who has garnered the most points, this week, during spirit week competitions and themed activities each day, Monday through Thursday at 2:45 pm and 6:30 pm.

Adding to pre-game excitement, Saturday, the TSD Lady Rangers go up against their predecessors – TSD’s alumni, in an exhibition volleyball game at 2:00 pm.

Then, pre-game begins at 5:00pm for the grand challenge on the gridiron when the TSD Rangers football team meets the Royals from San Antonio’s St. Gerard Catholic High School.

First-year, Rangers head coach, John Moore, has been preparing his team all season.

“After a stretch of three away games,” Moore says, “we are excited about returning home to play for our friends, families and fans. The team has definitely grown since the first day of training.

“We are all looking forward to showing the fans how hard we have been working all season. I believe you’ll see quite a sensational game on Saturday,” he adds.
