Job Coach/Job Skills Trainer (Bexar County)
Compensation: $10/HR + mileage reimbursement
Part-time
The open position is for a Job Coach/Job Skills Trainer. We work with individuals with disabilities aiding them in returning to the workforce. Some of our clients require the aide of a job coach to help them learn their tasks assigned by the employer or assistance completing documentation.
This is a part time job, as needed, with hours typically in the 15-30 hours a week range. You must be available evenings and weekends, as this is when most of the hours are needed for a job coach. A job coach will usually work when our clients need them, which would require a job coach who is very flexible with scheduling.
**Candidates who know ASL will be given priority consideration.**
Duties:
-Communicate effectively with work site supervisor to ensure clients’ understanding of company policies and procedures and of the essential job requirements for each client.
-Work side-by-side with each assigned client to help them with job duties, company policies and procedures and proper work behaviors.
-Keep employer informed of each client’s progress and possible issues that need to be resolved.
-Document in daily notes each client’s progress and issues.
-Help each client complete required forms and time-sheets.
-Attend scheduled meetings and staffing’s.
Requirements:
H.S. graduation or GED required. One year’s experience working with at-risk youth and/or people with disabilities or related conditions; or one year’s worth of college course work in social services, education, or related field required. Must have a valid TX driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Will travel throughout the Bexar County area (primarily within San Antonio city limits).
The candidate selected must be able to successfully complete the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services Job Coach training program within two weeks of hire. Certification is paid by the company.
$10 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement weekly.
