Skills Development English to ASL- March 28, 2015 9-12p with Cris Nunn .3CEUs (rescheduled from Feb 28th due to weather)
This workshop will look at the skills and competencies necessary to interpret from English to ASL. Participants will be given materials and opportunities to practice what they have learned in a safe and supportive environment.  Fluency in ASL and English required.
Presenter Bio: Cris is a native deaf user of ASL, a graduate of Gallaudet University, and currently an ASL instructor at Collin College and Brookhaven Community College.

This workshop will look at the skills and competencies necessary to interpret from ASL to English. Participants will be given materials and opportunities to practice what they have learned in a safe and supportive environment.  Fluency in ASL and English required.

Presenter Bio: Stephanie has been interpreting since 2003, is certified via BEI: Master and RID: NIC, and serves as an adjunct professor at Tarrant Community College.
Ethical Decisions in Interpreting- April 25, 2015 9-12p with Heather Hughes .3CEUs (BEI ethics)
This workshop will look at the decisions interpreters make that impact deaf individuals, their teams, and the community at large. Case scenarios will be presented within the large group and small groups. Application of the NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct will be considered with each scenario. Presented in ASL only.
Presenter Bio: Heather is currently the first deaf executive director of the Deaf Action Center in Dallas, TX and brings with her the knowledge and insight of the deaf community via her previous work as a Deafness Resource Specialist with DARS.
