FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME DEAF FOOTBALL?
Texas School for the Deaf Rangers vs. California (Fremont) School for the Deaf Eagles
Saturday, September 12, 2015

Austin, Texas – Sep 12, 2015 Experience some very exciting play action on the gridiron at the Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) tonight, when the TSD Rangers suit up for what is considered to be one of their most important games of the season.

TSD, for the first time this season, faces another football team who is also deaf – the Eagles from California School for the Deaf (CSD) – at 7:00 pm, Saturday, September 12 at TSD’s Rudolph Gamblin Field, located at 1102 South Congress Avenue in South Austin.

Though not counted for TSD in TAPPS (Texas Association Private and Parochial Schools) – the athletic division the TSD Rangers compete in here locally – athletics match-ups like this game, when TSD goes head-to-head against other teams who are also deaf – are special for both the teams on the field at TSD tonight.

And, for the coaching staff, as well as many fans and locals here in Austin’s Deaf community.

“The CSD team, coaches and staff arrived in Austin Friday, says TSD head coach, John Moore.

We’ve been hanging out together for the last 24+ hours, reconnecting with old friends, and the players have been socializing and making friends as well, he says.

You don’t get that with the Texas teams we play, so it’s really fun for all of us,” coach Moore adds.

Though, he says things will be serious on the field tonight.

In addition to TAPPS play here at home, this season, TSD goes to Florida School for the Deaf next week, and two weeks later will host the Maryland School for the Deaf here, back in Austin.

Moore’s Rangers really want the win tonight, to set the tone.
