Dallas Deaf Club: Red River Showdown – 10/10/2015

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR FANS, VISITORS, and MEMBERS…

Dallas Association of the Deaf (DAD) is pleased to announce DAD’s continuing tradition of being open for the Red River Showdown football game, between Oklahoma University and University of Texas. Visitors from Oklahoma and Austin are encouraged to come to DAD and join DAD members, to watch your favorite teams on one of DAD’s seven (7) televisions.

WHEN: October 10, 2015

DAD opens at 10:30 a.m. Kick-off time is at 11:00 a.m.

The Red River Showdown–the historic gridiron clash between Texas and Oklahoma, one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports.

DAD’s location is on 4215 Maple Ave., Dallas, Texas.

Oklahoma and Texas have played at the Cotton Bowl (State Fair Park), in Dallas, since 1929. Texas leads the series, 46-25-4. Who will win this year, Oklahoma or Texas? Come to DAD to root for your favorite team.

Special Notice–DRESS IN YOUR FAVORITE TEAM’S COLORS. DAD will have a best dressed football fan competition. There will be one winner for best dressed Texas fan, and one winner for best dressed Oklahoma fan. You will never know what prizes you can win at DAD.

Admission
$5.00 per member
$8.00 per non-member (visitor)
$2.00 for Ages 13-17
12 years old and under are free.

DAD Cafe will open at noon. Meals and desserts will be on sale.

For those who participating in the poker competition, starts at 2 p.m.

Other than poker, there will be several kinds of games you can play, throughout DAD…L-C-R, Phase Ten, and UNO for your enjoyment while watching the football game. If you don’t wish to play games, DAD is always a great place to chat with old and new friends.

Let’s get out of the house and attend the TX-OU party at DAD. DAD is Deaf Proud, and needs your continued support to keep Deaf Culture and the Deaf Community going strong. DAD is one of the best Deaf clubs in America!

Jolene Velez is DAD’s awesome bartender. Come and enjoy friendly company while sitting at DAD’s bar area.

Please pass the word to your friends in the Deaf community, to come out to DAD for the OU-UT game, this Saturday. DAD always has a good crowd.

Please Note–children will be allowed to stay until 11 p.m. Parents or guardians are responsible for their children while at DAD.

Information:

DAD is a place to come and enjoy a friendly and pleasant atmosphere & environment.

Any hearing student who takes an ASL, Deaf culture, or Interpreting class will be welcome at DAD for college credit.

Try to be there early for a better parking space for your vehicle. There is a steel fence around the parking lot to protect your vehicle. If the parking lot is full, you can park your vehicle the church across the street from DAD.
