* phone 800-621-3362 (FEMA). Applicants who use 711 or Video Relay Service may also call 800-621-3362. Persons who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY may call 800-462-7585. The toll-free numbers are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Multilingual operators are available.

What accommodations for deaf and hard of hearing individuals and families are available at disaster recovery centers?
• Disaster recovery centers, or DRCs, offer captioned phones, amplified phones, and iPads with video remote interpreting access to sign language interpreters. On-site interpreters are also available upon request.
What if I’m turned down for federal disaster assistance?
• Applicants from the federally designated counties have 60 days from the date on FEMA’s decision letter to file an appeal.
