POSITION: Executive Director
REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
PROGRAM AREA: TSHA General Agency

JOB SUMMARY:

To manage a community-based, non-profit organization which provides a broad range of social services to persons affected by hearing loss (deaf/hard of hearing/others.) This position requires excellent administrative skills to execute services provided by staff members within the organization. This position oversees and implements resources to ensure that the operations of the agency are appropriate and meeting current needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with board and staff to ensure the agency mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, selection, management and termination of employees.
  • Develops and revises annual budget, including Tulsa Area United Way budget.
  • Provides administrative direction to department heads for effective operation of programs.
  • Oversees marketing and other communication efforts of TSHA.
  • Meets with potential funding sources and oversee fundraising activities and special events.
  • Develops and evaluates service delivery systems for people affected by hearing loss.
  • Provides administrative direction to Directors.
  • Prepares and presents speeches related to community awareness and public relations.
  • Serves on local, state and national boards and committees.
  • Attends all Board meetings providing reports on program and agency activities.
  • Serves as ex officio at committee meetings of the board.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Administration, Deaf Education or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a non-profit setting and three years of experience working with people who have hearing loss; or
  • Five years of experience in a related field and three years of supervisory experience.
  • Fluent manual communication skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
