REMINDER: SALLY: A Play by CODA Tracey Huguley 9/29/19 – Austin

SALLY, a play about a hearing daughter of Deaf adults. Written by CODA playwright Tracey Huguley.

Have you ever wanted to know how a play is developed? Well then, this event is for you! SALLY, a play in development, is the story of a hearing daughter born to deaf adults and raised in the deaf community. Sally struggles to find her place in the world since she was raised in both the deaf community and the hearing world and doesn’t know where she belongs. This play has historical significance as it shines a light on the struggles deaf individuals face daily. This reading will have deaf actors, hearing actors, interpreters, and a deaf director. The playwright will guide the theater goers in a feedback session after the rehearsal and/or reading to continue her development of the play. This play is being supported in part by a grant from the City of Austin Economic Development Department Cultural Arts Division and ScriptWorks.
