ASL Teaching Job Opening ASAP – Wichita Falls

ASL Teaching Job Opening ASAP – DFW

I am the Assistant Superintendent for Burkburnett ISD in Burkburnett, Texas. We are located just north of Wichita Falls, Texas on I-44. We are in desperate need for an American Sign Language teacher. Our current teacher is leaving us at semester. I was given your emails as contacts who may be able to point me in the direction of where a good place is to find candidates who are either certified to teach ASL, or who are licensed interpreters. This is a hard position to hire for, as you know. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

The position would be a full-time teacher, and because we are a District of Innovation in Texas, we can hire someone who has field work as a licensed interpreter. They do not have to have their teaching certification, or an education degree. Applications can be accessed at our website under employment: www.burkburnettisd.org

We are a PreK-12 public school district of 3300 students.
The position would be for ASL I and ASL II at our high school.
Pay range is commensurate with experience on our pay scale and we take into account outside experience.
Starting pay for no experience is $40,500.
We also fully pay for ActivCare HD TRS Insurance.

Thank you,
Dr. Brad Owen
Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services
Burkburnett ISD; 940-569-3326, 2034
