We, the Motion Light Lab team, are excited to announce a new training program on the development of VL2 Storybook Apps.

This training program is designed to teach you how to develop your own bilingual storybook apps using our customized platform, the award-winning VL2 Storybook Creator. You will also learn the essential skills required in storybook app development: storyboarding, filming, editing, working on digital assets, ASL storytelling, translating, and more. This program is a hybrid of online modules and a four-day in-person training session. This will take 6-8 months and is mostly self-paced.

We are designing this program to support and build your capacity, skills, and knowledge to best maximize our resource and tools. The online modules are important because they will prepare you for the in-person session, where we can dive right into the nuts and bolts of app development using the VL2 Storybook Creator. We will host occasional webinars to support everyone’s progress.

We are encouraging digital-savvy people, filmmakers, artists, storytellers, and educators to consider this. If you would like to develop your skills in those areas, consider signing up! If you are a recent college or high school graduate, this is a great opportunity for you. This is also geared towards educators/ASL specialists at programs and schools for Deaf children.

We are interested in creating impact. We want to equip you with tools to unleash your ideas and create quality literature/resources. We are looking for people with curious minds and a zest for learning new things!

Please register by January 8, 2020. All the information, including training location and dates are on the https://vl2storybookapps.com/training-program. We have a nice FAQ too!

Our program manager is Conrad Baer, please direct your inquiries to [email protected].

Please share and distribute this with your network. Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to get started!

Best,
Melissa Malzkuhn, Conrad Baer, MJ Kielbus and
