Statewide Outreach Center (SOC) at TSD Announcement (Former ERCOD)

SOC at TSD Announcement

Dear Colleagues, Partners and Friends of TSD,

We, at the formerly known as Educational Resource Center on Deafness (ERCOD) at Texas School for the Deaf (TSD), have upgraded, modernized, and we are now proud to announce the roll out of our new name and new logo.

After months of work, paying attention to stakeholders and digging deeply, it was evident an upgrade to our old brand was needed. The former name was outdated and confusing.

While we have a new name and logo, be assured that what will always remain the same is our dedication to the success of all students who are deaf or hard of hearing and the parents and teachers who support them.

Since established in 1989, quality resources, information and a network of support for families and professionals remain at the forefront of the Statewide Outreach Center’s (SOC) mission.

TSD’s latest Lone Star Journal includes our official announcement on the back page. And, look for changes to our revamped website as well. With the recent coronavirus concerns keeping students at home, away from school and off of their usual routines, new resources are always being added to help families and professionals keep students on track.

At your fingertips, new stories in American Sign Language (ASL), online learning opportunities, educational technology tips, lesson plans and helpful Covid-19 resources are available to help everyone stay healthy and continue to thrive.

Working collaboratively with a variety of partners, other agencies, family-focused groups and schools across Texas the SOC offers a network of support, in-depth information and quality resources for those who need it.
