Raymond J. Suire
Raymond Joseph Suire, beloved husband, father and grandfather died
early Sunday morning, May 4, 2008, when his very fragile, but
ever-giving and big heart gave out. Raised on his family’s dairy farm
in Louisiana, Raymond moved to San Antonio in 1961 to begin his career
as a fearless entrepreneur, going into business for himself and
attempting other business ventures in and related to the construction
industry for over 40 years, and enjoying his retirement years by
traveling extensively abroad with his beloved wife of 46 years,
Lucille. Despite being deaf all of his life, he excelled in school,
was a tremendous athlete and was known as a great dancer. But mostly
he will be known as a person who loved to talk and get to know people.
Always the prankster, he loved to laugh and make those around him
laugh. Raymond will be especially missed by his church, where he was
an active member of the Deaf community at San Francesco Di Paola
Catholic Church. Raymond’s wife Lucille, daughter and son-in-law Lucy
and Paul San Roman, son and daughter-in-law Raymond and Sonia Suire,
and his four grandchildren Adrianna, Nicholas, Emil and Julian,
sister-in-law Gloria Aguilar, nieces and nephews, as well as his
extended family in Texas, Louisiana and beyond all grieve in the loss
of his presence in our lives. May he rest in peace. Funeral Mass to be
held on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at 5:00 p.m., San Francesco Di Paola, 205
Piazza Italia, San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts
can be made to Mark Seven Catholic Bible Institute for the Deaf c/o
Fr. Tom Coughlin, 143 Honeysuckle Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78213.
