Interpreter Workshops January 17, 2015 – Houston

Laura Cole from Cole Interpreting Services, Inc., will be presenting two workshops on January 17, 2015 at Houston Community College: building Learning Hub Science Center room #116.

You can attend one workshop for $30 or both for $50.  Students are $10 for one and $15 for both. If you are able to refer 5 people, you will be reimbursed for one of your workshops.

9am-12pm “Independent Contractors—How to start and run your own business”
Are you scared to start your own business?  This workshop will walk you through everything you need to know to become an Independent Contractor.  You will learn about all legal documentation involved, the steps to opening your business, and how to obtain the highest profit.  We will cover all bases from choosing a name to retirement.  Examples will be given for marketing, accounting programs, and creating a rate sheet, along with recommendations for scheduling, networking, invoicing and documentation. This workshop will be your step-by-step guide to start and run your own profitable business.

1pm-4pm “Get the most out of Uncle Sam”
Do you want to earn more from your tax return? Would like to learn how to better manage your money to make a larger profit?  This workshop is for Independent Contractors AND part-time staff that want to save as much as possible on their tax returns.  It will teach you over 85 ways to deduct from your taxes and help you choose a business entity that could save you thousands of dollars.  Learn what the IRS expects when filing a tax return so you can get the most for your money.
