Police: Group home caretaker committed sexual assault

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police have issued an arrest warrant for a former South Austin group home caretaker, who allegedly tied up and sexually assaulted a special needs woman in mid-2013.
In a sign language interview on July 29, 2013, the deaf and mentally disabled alleged victim told authorities that Erik Allen Lee, 32, came to the Mayo group home where she was staying. He allegedly tied her hands above her head and her legs together, and he raped her, according to the affidavit. A rape kit examination was conducted while the victim was at the hospital.
In a separate sign language interview with police about one week after the alleged rape, Lee allegedly told police he worked at the Haller group home down the street from the Mayo home. Lee said he would go to the nearby Mayo to get supplies.
Lee said he did not have sex with the victim, and he agreed to give his saliva for a DNA test. On Dec. 11, 2014, forensic examiners matched Lee’s DNA to semen found in the victim.
