BEI Test Overview: What is the Test Testing?

Earn 0.3 DHHS-BEI CEUs! (General Studies & Interpreting)

What measurements does the Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) test focus on? What type of scoring system is used? Objective scoring is used but how does adaptability, pronunciation, fluency and delivery come into the scoring process? While the cut-off number for objective unit errors is exact, a range of unit errors is established for the subjective score. An overview of the BEI testing process will be provided to participants. The formats of the written Test of English Proficiency (TEP) and the Performance Test will be discussed, in addition to reviews of the rating process and examples of scoring determinants.

The registration link for the webinar will be provided after you RSVP to: [email protected]. Once you use the link to register in the webinar system, you will receive an email of acceptance and a link to access the webinar. Send a copy of this acceptance email with your check or money order for $15 to: HHSC-DHHS, PO Box 12904, Austin, TX 78711. There are no refunds for any reason.
