HOTID Workshop! “Soft Skills and Ethics Working Hand in Hand” – Waco

HOTID Workshop! 10-13-18, 9am-4pm “Soft Skills and Ethics Working Hand in Hand”

Employers identify soft skills as some of the most important attributes an employee can have in the workplace. We will discuss hard/soft skills with emphasis on how they relate to sign language interpreters and the Code of Professional Conduct. Participants will identify and reflect on their own hard/soft skills and how they have used them throughout their career.

Presented by: Lauri Metcalf
Recently retired at San Antonio College, Lauri now travels, presenting workshops and training for Interpreters. Past achievements include: establishing the ASL/Interpreting program at SAC (which received multiple awards in Interpreter Education), serving as member of the Texas BEI (’95 to ‘07) and Chairperson for 11 years, providing consultation with the National Center on Interpretation at the University of Arizona in the test development and the certification.
