Job Description:

The Communication Access Specialist is hired by, accountable and reports to the Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Director and performs complex (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves assisting with the planning, developing, and implementing various training and education programs and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, and the general public.

Duties include: assisting with establishing program goals and objectives; assisting with developing program guidelines, procedures, and policies; assisting with developing schedules and priorities; assisting with evaluating program activities; and providing consultative and technical services and training to agency program staff, other governmental agencies, public/private community organizations, contracted service providers, consumers and the general public.

Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs other duties as assigned.
