This webinar is intended for teachers of students who are deaf and hard of hearing, administrators, parents, students, support staff, service providers, and interpreters.

Working remotely has become the current norm for today’s teachers, service providers, and educational interpreters. With the ease of plugging in from your homes, you can provide access to an online classroom and online support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Amanda will discuss different platforms and various accommodations available for you to provide for online learning. She will also evaluate different online scenarios to determine the best practices for effective communication strategies. In addition, Amanda has several educational resources to share during the webinar.

About the presenter:

Born and raised in Texas, Amanda Tuite attended the University of North Texas and has years of experience as an advocate on behalf of consumers who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing who were denied access to communication. She has given workshops on various topics such as Deaf Self Advocacy Training (DSAT), Youth Mental Health First Aid, Disclosing your Disability, Law Enforcement Training, Soft Skills, and Cultural Competency. Amanda also provides advocacy training to empower people who are deaf or hard of hearing with knowledge of their disability rights. Amanda is an active member of the Deaf community.

This webinar will be presented in American Sign Language (ASL); voice interpretation and real-time captioning (CART) will be provided for the session. Audio access is via your computer speakers. If you do not have computer speakers, call the number provided by the GoToWebinar system for audio access.
