We hope to report to you on a weekly basis an update on progress made by Greg Gunderson, a deaf Sioux Falls, South Dakota native who is among 50 stock car racing drivers selected to compete for 12 car rookie spots on the Racin\u2019 for a new reality TV show called Racin\u2019 for a Livin\u2019.<\/p>\n
FINAL VOTE TALLY: #3!<\/p>\n
The final vote tally came in this afternoon, and your support has boosted my ranking to number THREE! Although my ultimate goal was to be number one, but this is still a fantastic finish to the four long month competition. I could not make it without your support! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!<\/p>\n
WHAT IS NEXT?<\/p>\n
Of course, I need to take a moment to sit back and cherish this moment for a bit. Smile.<\/p>\n
Now that I am one of 15 rookies, I will go to a two-day audition along with five additional rookies form the wildcard voting competition (you may have seen this at the racinforalivin.com website). After the audition, twelve rookies will be selected to go on the reality TV show. I will do my best to impress the TV show crew because I want to be selected and to show the world that deaf people can do anything but hear!<\/p>\n
Details of the TV show production are still in works, and I will know very soon where the competition will take place early this fall. The reality TV show will be shown on TV in February to May of 2007. I will share any new information with you.<\/p>\n
Lastly, I will continue this e-news to keep you posted on the new reality TV show and my efforts to get on the show. Next week I will share with you all media interviews I have had in the past few weeks. I also will announce sponsors of my racing team in another e-news. I have so much to share with you but I will spread them over the next few e-news.<\/p>\n
