Message from DAD President May 2010<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hello to all members and friends of DAD<\/p>\n

First day of May had arrived and things are busy at Dallas Deaf Clubhouse.<\/p>\n

I want to thank Mitchel Bien, Callie Foster, Ricky Foster, Jesse Layman and
\nSteven Whitworth for help taking away the patches of grassy dirt from the
\nstreet on Douglas Avenue. It is a tough task but they completed it.<\/p>\n

Good news! Rick Schaeffer finally got the permit to install patio covering
\nin our back patio. His renovation team is already working on this project.
\nSo please, for your safety, be careful and observe the safety signs inside
\nand around Dallas Deaf Club. We are hoping we will finish at the end of this
\nmonth. Cross your fingers!<\/p>\n

We have so many things that we want to do but the time is going by fast.
\nPlease be patient with us. If you are interested to help us finishing the
\nprojects that we have at Dallas Deaf Club, please do let me know! So we
\ncould finish them quickly.<\/p>\n

Last month, we had town hall meeting with Sprint, Public Utility Commission,
\nand Texas Association of the Deaf. I want to personally thank Cindi Nagy and
\nDavid Strom with Sprint for arranges this interesting event. Hands waving
\nup!<\/p>\n

I regret to report that the Scrapbooking Retreat for May 8, 2010 is
\ncancelled.<\/p>\n

We are having Ladies Night on Friday, May 14. C’mon down here, ladies, and
\nhave a grand time away from your husbands and children.<\/p>\n

CINGO Night is on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Doors open at 7:00 PM and game
\nstarts at 8:30 PM. Bring friends and enjoy the game.<\/p>\n

General meeting is set for Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 7:30 PM. I hope to see
\nyou in the meeting.<\/p>\n

By the way, we are setting up a special event for Friday night on August 2
\nand Saturday afternoon on August 21. Stay tuned!<\/p>\n

Anyway, I want to remind you that DAD has a website where everyone can check
\nour upcoming social, activities and events. If you desire to use DAD’s
\nmeeting hall for your party, please contact either me or Steven Whitworth
\n(swhitworth@dallasdeafclub.org).<\/p>\n
