The Greater Houston Interpreters for the Deaf is presenting “OIC – Operating
\nas an Independent Contractor” on Saturday May 22, 2010 from 9am – noon. “This
\nworkshop will teach you the rights and responsibilities of the independent
\ncontract interpreter. Participants will learn about establishing rates,
\npolicies, customer service and more.”<\/p>\n

Scripts – Ever wished you had a “Book of Scripts” for those sticky
\ninterpreting situations? This workshop will guide you in developing a “book
\nof scripts” for practicing diplomacy and excellent customer service in
\ngeneral business practice as well as sticky and surprising ethical
\nsituations.<\/p>\n

Presented by Cindy Barnett, these workshops carry a combined total of 0.7
\nCEUs and a wealth of very useful information for all interpreters.<\/p>\n
