{"id":11049,"date":"2010-07-05T05:40:05","date_gmt":"2010-07-05T10:40:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=11049"},"modified":"2010-07-05T05:49:17","modified_gmt":"2010-07-05T10:49:17","slug":"president-declares-emergency-for-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2010\/07\/05\/president-declares-emergency-for-texas\/","title":{"rendered":"President Declares Emergency For Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>President Declares Emergency For Texas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Citizens with Special Needs Preparedness:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.texasonline.com\/portal\/tol\/en\/emergency\/specialneeds\" target=\"_blank\"> http:\/\/www.texasonline.com\/portal\/tol\/en\/emergency\/specialneeds<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hurricane Resources for Texas Citizens:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.texasonline.com\/portal\/tol\/en\/emergency\" target=\"_blank\"> http:\/\/www.texasonline.com\/portal\/tol\/en\/emergency<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Release Date: June 29, 2010<br \/>\nRelease Number: HQ-10-128<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON, D.C. &#8212; The U.S. Department of Homeland Security&#8217;s Federal<br \/>\nEmergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that an emergency exists<br \/>\nin the state of Texas and that federal aid is available to supplement state<br \/>\nand local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from<br \/>\nTropical Storm Alex beginning on June 27, 2010, and continuing.<\/p>\n<p>Federal funding is available to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which<br \/>\nhave the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the<br \/>\nemergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for<br \/>\nrequired emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act,<br \/>\nto save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to<br \/>\nlessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in the counties of Aransas,<br \/>\nAtascosa, Bee, Bexar, Brooks, Cameron, Comal, Duval, Guadalupe, Hidalgo, Jim<br \/>\nHogg, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, McMullen, Medina, Nueces,<br \/>\nRefugio, San Patricio, Starr, Webb, Willacy, Wilson, and Zapata.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide at its<br \/>\ndiscretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of<br \/>\nthe emergency.
