Jeopardy!! on ADA specializing in Deaf\/Hard of Hearing<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are not sure that participating in Jeopardy!! on ADA would be fun and
\nbeneficial, answer the questions below:<\/p>\n

1) Have you ever been confused about what ADA really says about who provides
\nan interpreter or other auxiliary aid\/service?<\/p>\n

2) Does a private doctor\u2019s office have to employ at least 15 employees
\nbefore providing an interpreter or other auxiliary aid\/service?<\/p>\n

3) Does a Social Security office have to follow ADA?<\/p>\n

4) Under the ADA, are employers required to pay for interpreters or other
\nauxiliary aid\/service for their Deaf\/hard of hearing employees?<\/p>\n

5) Does ADA apply to a public college\/university only, not a private one?<\/p>\n

If you answered \u201cYes\u201d to at least one of the above questions, come to my
\ntraining to find out and to have fun learning through playing the Jeopardy!!
\ngame. The training would empower you to learn how to self-advocate as a
\nDeafor Hard of Hearing individual. The training is scheduled and located at:<\/p>\n

Immediately after our Jeopardy!!!, Darlene Nobles, the owner of Signs of
\nthe Times, will give us a tour of her office across the street from the
\nrestaurant. It\u2019s optional.<\/p>\n

The Speaker-<\/p>\n

Brian Determan, an ASL-native deaf individual, serves as the Deafness
\nResource Specialist 7A, through Communication Axess Ability Group, for a
\nprogram funded by Texas DARS (Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative
\nServices) \u2013 Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. He works with
\nvarious agencies and service providers regarding their access obligations
\nunder the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act. His
\ntraining will empower deaf or hard of hearing individuals with knowledge
\nof their civil rights and how to self-advocate.<\/p>\n

Accommodations for participants such as real time captioning (C.A.R.T.) or
\nsign to voice interpreter services must be requested by Monday, July 26,
