Witness convention examines attitudes toward God;
\nAll in the Deaf Community invited to attend<\/p>\n

Denton, TX\u2014 In a climate of conflicting attitudes toward God, how can the
\nfaithful withstand constant attacks on their belief in God? What evidence
\nabout God\u2019s existence is there for nonbelievers to examine? Intriguing
\nanswers to these questions will be explored during the Witnesses\u2019 2010
\n\u201cRemain Close to Jehovah!\u201d District Convention to be held at Denton, TX
\nAssembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.<\/p>\n

Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses believe that a strong relationship with God is vital for
\nspiritual well-being and personal happiness. Starting this weekend and
\ncontinuing for the next couple of weeks, Jehovah\u2019s Witnesses will extend a
\npersonal invitation to all deaf and hard of hearing from 10 surrounding
\nstates to attend. The first of the three-day events to be held in Denton, TX
\nwill begin Friday, August 6, 2010, at 9:20 a.m. The theme is based on
\nseveral passages of the Bible, including Joshua 23:8, Psalm 73:28, Proverbs
\n3:32, and the key text at James 4:8. The program, presented in full American
\nSign Language, will focus on strengthening one\u2019s spirituality. Admission to
\nthe convention is free, and no collections will be taken.<\/p>\n

Locally, all of the area\u2019s 19 Witness sign language congregations will be
\nsupporting the activity of distributing attractively printed invitations to
\nthe convention. An estimated 1500 will come to Denton, Texas over the
\nweekend for the programs.<\/p>\n

Throughout the continental United States, there will be 357 conventions in
\n90 cities.<\/p>\n

Worldwide, there are over 7,300,000 Witnesses in more than 105,000
\ncongregations.<\/p>\n
